The New River Valley Sierra Club, Sustainable Blacksburg, and Blacksburg Library invite you for a showing of Kilowatt Ours, followed by a discussion of energy issues in our communities. Kilowatt Ours is a documentary about energy that explores how our energy choices affect our health and well-being. It begins with an investigation of the impacts of coal and other energy sources, and then examines cost-effective changes various school systems, industries, and individuals have made to reduce the negative impacts of energy use and to improve the health of students, workers, and the public. Filmmaker Jeff Barrie aims to re-energize the country with this very upbeat film which will last approximately 45 minutes. |
